Krav Maga is a martial art that is rapidly gaining popularity in Brisbane for the practical street self defence skills it teaches, which can be easily learnt and applied by men or women alike. Krav Maga is a well rounded style of martial art covering all aspects of self defence from single to multiple attackers, and weapons to empty handed attacks. In self defence you must also consider each range of attack such as long distance – think kicks or weapons, as well as middle or short ranges – think punches, strikes, elbows, knees, and grappling, right through to defending yourself on the ground. Krav Maga teaches you to be comfortable defending yourself at each of these ranges. Importantly, it also teaches you to cope with the mental side of self-defence, coping with the extreme stress and anxiety that can make people freeze up instead of run or defend themselves.
